7th Chihuahua National Specialty

We invite Chihuahua exhibitors and enthusiasts from all over Australia & the world to our “Chihuahua Fiesta”.

The Chihuahua Club of South Australia Inc is proud to host the 7th  National Chihuahua Championship Show. We hosted the 1st National back in 1998, and are very excited to be hosting our second National twelve years later.

The 7th Chihuahua National will be held on the 9th & 10th October 2010. Our venue is SACA Park, Cromwell Road Kilburn and the show will be held outdoors on green grass.

The weather in early October is usually sunny and warm, with the average maximum of 21oC. To assist interstate exhibitors we are currently looking into hiring marquees for shelter and will have more information available shortly.

We can announce that Mrs Fidelma Doherty Dixie from USA has been approved to judge the 7th National Chihuahua Championship Show.

Mrs Dixie has over 20 years experience in breeding and exhibiting Chihuahuas and has judged at very large Chihuahua specialties, including the Chihuahua Club of America’s National.

Our Committee is currently working very hard to produce an extraordinary Extravaganza for exhibitors attending.

The full information package, containing more detailed information and the full schedule is available here in a downloadable PDF format. We will be sending out other regular updates leading up to October 2010.

Judges Profile.

Fidelma Doherty Dixie
Emerald Chihuahuas
U.S.A.

Fidelma has owned, bred and shown Chihuahuas since 1986.  She has been breeding and showing chihuahuas with considerable success both in the show ring and in the overall quality of her dogs, albeit on a very limited basis. Her goal is to come as close to the standard as possible while striving for optimum health, soundness and well balanced temperament and to improve the quality of each litter in a small, but discriminating breeding program.

Fidelma has personally shown fourteen of her own dogs to their AKC Championships and several not carrying her kennel name. She bred and owned the Number One Longcoat Chihuahua in the USA for 2002 and bred the Number One Longcoat Chihuahua in the UK for 2007.

Fidelma began judging Chihuahuas in 1999. Last April, she judged the Chihuahua Club of America National Specialty Longcoats and all Inter Variety and Best in Show. She has also judged six other Chihuahua specialties in the past 5 years. She is qualified to award Championship points in the USA. She is now also judging Papillons.

Fidelma is a longstanding member of the Chihuahua Club of America, Dallas Chihuahua Club and the Dallas/Fort Worth Toy Dog Club.

This will be Fidelma’s first judging appointment in Australia, and she is excited and honored to judge our special event.
